Happy Chinese New Year 春节快乐
As we head in to February (15-21), keep an eye out for Chinese celebrations as they head into their New Year, For Chinese, 2018 is the year of the dog. If you meet and greet a Chinese person wish them Te Puke goodness and a happy new year.
In China, it is still popular to name dogs Wàng Cái (旺财). It means “prosperous wealth” and comes from dogs’ barking sounds (旺旺—wàng wàng).
Vector Group Charitable Trust wishes our Chinese community in Te Puke and surrounding districts a happy and prosperous February and new year. 恭喜发财 / 恭喜發財
